Christmas Tree

Chris and I got our first Christmas tree! We went to the Emerald Tree lot on Stevens Creek near Wolfe. My family has gotten trees there for years. The guys there were really nice!

The guys giving the tree a fresh cut on the bottom, trimming lower limbs and putting on the stand.

Trying to get a picture of ourselves with the tree.

Chris holding up the tree straight while the guy screws it in.

The tree before (yeah, it's a little tilted)

The tree after! The angel might be a little crooked and we don't have more than a handful of ornaments, but I LOVE it and think it's absolutely perfect!

Two Dozen

I turned 24 on Monday and to celebrate, I went to my dad's on Sunday for pizza, cake and presents.

We started off by watching a home video from my 4th birthday. My 4th birthday and 24th birthday parties took place in the same house =)

Me and the delicious cake! Sarah made me the red velvet cake I wanted!

Cutting the cake...

Chris getting frosting on me! I almost dropped the cake!

Then after the frosting, he tried to throw the whole cake in my face!

Dad and Adel got me an electric blanket!

Heidi, Chris' mom, got a picture of me and Nikki drawn and framed for me. I LOVE this picture! This is one of the best gifts ever!

William got me an entertainment book, Sarah got me wine glasses and Jessyka got me a soda/sparkling water maker. Didn't get pictures of those though.

GREAT birthday so far! On my actual b-day, it was low key. I went shopping and relaxed all day. I'm hanging out with friends again on Friday for a continued birthday celebration!

Apartment Pictures

Finally getting around to posting pictures my dad e-mailed me when my family came over for dinner at the beginning of the month. In addition to these, my dad took 106 more pictures I'm not posting. He went just a tad overboard. Love you Dad! Pictures in no particular order...

Welcome to my apartment!

Relaxing in the living room.

Master bedroom. LOVE my new king sized bed!

I think my dad is standing on Chris' computer desk to get the shot of the living room and the dining room.

Din din time!

Our second room full of my knitting (large dresser) and scrapbooking (smaller dresser). My old twin bed is in there and my desk. Kind of a catch all room.

Right at the entrance of the apt. Kitchen to the left, hall closet in front and the rooms are to the right.

Had to get a picture of Dad!

All of those sofa pillows are now just stored in the closet. There were waaay too many of them.

That orange trash can is full of Lexi's dog toys =)

Lexi loves to stare out the window and see the people walking by.

October Updates

My dad and Aunt Ruth had a BBQ at my dad's house for their 60th (Aunt Ruth) and 61st (dad) birthdays. They're exactly a year apart. It was nice going home and seeing everyone.

I've only knit 3 pumpkin hats, can you believe it?! I also couldn't resist and I already gave one away =\ One of my co-workers made 12 hats before I finished my first hat. That's plenty! I think I should start on Christmas hats already. I crocheted my Halloween candy container this year too. For some reason I can't upload my pumpkin hat pictures correctly. I'll keep working on it.

I'm absolutely loving living away from home. Friends come over all the time and we've had some really fun late nights.

Pan-fried Potatoes And Chicken

I went to Barnes and Noble today and bought 3 cookbooks. I am determined to learn to cook! I tried something very simple to begin. It's pan-fried potatoes with beef. At the bottom of the recipe it says the beef can be switched out with chicken which I did. I added peas into the recipe too. I wish it had some type of sauce, but it's still pretty tasty.

It's was quick and delicious. I had most of the things in my fridge/freezer already.
